Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 investment which was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an exemplary household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied on food delivered by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank too much, and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran struggled in school, and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed many classes during her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
